This UK and US nuclear partnership, announced at the COP29 climate summit in Baku, aims to pool billions of dollars in research and development funds to decarbonise heavy industries and bolster energy security.

The agreement will facilitate sharing information and expertise on advanced nuclear technologies, such as advanced modular reactors (AMRs). AMRs are smaller, modular reactors that can be manufactured in factories and deployed more quickly and cost-effectively than traditional nuclear power plants.

This innovative approach promises to revolutionise the nuclear industry, making it more efficient and sustainable.
